Chester, England

While visiting our cousins in England we took a tour of the old roman town of Chester, England.

The old roman wall that protected the city still stands and makes for an enjoyable walk.

Unfortunately the ponies weren't running this day.

The architecture was fantastic and different from anywhere else we have been.

As it was the 10 year anniversary of 9/11 there was a parade to honor the victims of which many were British.

London/Chester - The Food

On the 10th anniversery of 9/11 we were visiting our cousin and went out for American BBQ

We thought it would be a nice place to sit down and take in the view of Tower Bridge.

Maybe get a family picture taken by our friend in front of it.

Apparently other people thought it would be a good idea to get their picture taken as well, but they didn't have friends.  So, Ryan had to fill in. 

These eastern european ladies were smitten with Ryan.

These Israeli guys were not so they went with Michelle.

The Canadian was a fan of Ryan

We spent about 20 minutes taking photos for people before moving on.

Peckforton Castle

During our trip to England to visit our cousin, they took us to Peckforton Castle. The castle was built in the middle of the 19th century as a family home.  It has been described as the "very height of masquerading" and one of the great buildings of its age. Today the castle is used as a luxury hotel.

We had to wait to go inside as a wedding was taking place.

There were aviaries on site housing many large birds of prey, with daily shows. 

The bride was excited that we had come all the way from America for her wedding.

Everything about the castle was fantastic except the random 18 hole mini-golf course.

London - The Monument

The Monument is London's commemoration of the great fire of London.  It stands 202 ft tall and 202 ft from the place the fire began.  The monument was completed in 1677
